It is well known that people often overlook their errors in writing and a fresh eye of someone else may come in handy. I like this definition from urbandictionary (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?page=2&term=truth) : 12. sterner1: I can suggest another piece of advice. Google can provide some assurance as to how accurate your phrase is. Of course it can’t guarantee 100% reliability but it can indicate which version is likely to be correct. To enhance the reliability of an inquiry I used the advanced US government search(courtesy of Google). I assumed that the samples from the US government sites would be appropriate to our needs. The results: I found two results in favor of the lady you know who (Truth hurts). See copy below. Results 1 - 2 of 2 for the truth hurts -the. (0.10 seconds When truth hurts. Hardy J. Middlesex University. Mesh Terms:. Aged; Deception*; Dementia/nursing*; Humans; Nurse-Patient Relations* ... www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16134425 Truth hurts. Chadwick R. Breast Neoplasms/genetics; Breast ... www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9431073 I found 199 results in favor of another version (The truth hurts). Results 1 - 10 of about 199 for "the truth hurts". (0.10 seconds Now you can see which version is likely to be correct. 199 entries versus 2. Obviously you can speak any way you like but I would not encourage speaking in Pigeon English. I believe that the lady you know who was prudent when she refused to accept my challenge. ]
